Training Descriptions

This training provides participants with knowledge and basic skills on how to properly respond immediately to workplace injuries or medical emergencies.

 People at work can suffer injuries or fall ill. It doesn’t matter whether the injury or the illness is caused by the work they do or not. It is a legal requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 that employers have made arrangements for emergency first aid cover to be available to employees at all times.

This training course is designed to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required by “an appointed person” to be able to deal with an emergency until medical help is available.

Training Objectives

Each attendee who will complete this training will gain the following outcomes:-

  •  Apply a basic knowledge on first aid
  • Discuss relevant regulations and accepted code of practice
  • Explain the duties and responsibilities of basic first aid
  • Employ immediate response to workplace injuries or medical emergencies
  • Demonstrate and practice a proper procedures as well as equipment needs in applying first aid
  • List of first aid including legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries and medical emergencies and CPR-C certification
  • Practice essential skills in small group practices and can also apply those skills in optional scenario-based practices

Who should attend?

This training is recommended for all individuals.

Course Duration and Certification

The training is for 1 day and upon completion of the course, participants will receive a MEDIC FIRST AID wall certificate

Before the course

Each delegate will be asked to complete a Pre-Course Assessment Form to determine their current level and objectives for attending the course. The content of such Form will be used by the trainer only to give tailored training that is focused on each group of delegates.

At the end of the course

Each delegate will be asked to complete an Individual Development Plan and Vocational Completion Certificate
